Entertainment What would be your pokemon team

I would have probably written something different before last November, but SwSh made this question much easier because it's now just 1. Wooloo 2. Wooloo 3. Wooloo 4. Wooloo 5. Wooloo 6. Wooloo Repeat pokémon rule be damned!

    Suggestions to improve Essentials

That was said by Donald Knuth, I think he spent much of his career studying computational complexity, or something. When it comes to optimizing an algorithm, you care about how many orders of magnitude it takes, not individual CPU cycles. Disclaimer: haven't used Essentials in a while, don't...

    TEAM MAPPER: Trial I

The logical extension of this is that we need to do a game jam, but all participants work on the same game.

Survey: General Hardware Specs and OS

I think i told you this on discord, but worth noting: the people who go out of their way to fill out hardware surveys tend to be the people who know what they're doing and have better specs than your average game-playing computer user - according to the steam hardware survey the "average" gamer...

    Beast Hunter [Unity]

A 2D RPG using Creation Engine, you say? Nice. (I don't currently have time, but good luck!)

Possibility of Relic Castle meet-up at TooManyGames 2020!

Just to add, meeting your internet friends in person is the weirdest experience ever and I want it to happen to me more often.

Any tips on programming a JRPG monster catcher using RPG Maker XP?

I still do a double-take whenever I see someone recommending my thing somewhere. Anyway another thing to consider if you want to quickly share something on Steam is that RPG Maker VX Ace and MV have workshop support, so if you make something you could just throw it out into the world right from...

    Fan games with Pokemon characters

The quickest IANAL of "fair use" I know is "it's a 'defense,' which means if you're making your argument, you're already in a courthouse," so try not to resort to that. Pokémon fan games have always been and will always be a gray area at best, but unless you seriously rock the boat you can fly...

Dev Kit Do Or Die (yes that's what I'm calling it)

Not too bad, it's basically what I'm doing now. On the overworld it's just a matter of changing the image and audio assets to make it look and sound like something else, messing with the battle system's more involved depending on how far you want to take things though.

Dev Kit Do Or Die (yes that's what I'm calling it)

On the note of working in both 2D and 3D . . . the main point of this thing is to serve as a map editor itself, but one of my friends really likes Tiled and he asked if I'd write an importer for it, and since I'm already bad at project management I thought I might as well. The tiles will...

Making Fan Games vs. Making Original Games

Time to make it sound like I know what I'm talking about! I've had this thread open in my browser since Monday but haven't been able to decide how I want to answer it until now. I like fan games. For one, they're hecking cool, because you get to try out ideas that wouldn't get any piece of the...

Dev Kit Do Or Die (yes that's what I'm calling it)

I say, before proceeding to forget about it for another two months. I'm still doing this! I don't have a lot of new media though, since a lot of the last two months have involved fixing problems I was ignoring before, including pretty much everything I'd done before about this February. I'm...

    Freelance Old-time RPG Maker Games

There has not been; @moca and I were talking about it a little while ago, but I've kind of been distracted by other things. Are you on the relic discord? If I hear back from him - or anyone else, maybe you know some other people who might be interested? - I'll let you know, though.

Recruiting Assembling a Team for Project SF (Working Title)

I see what you did there ಠ_ಠ Not enough free time for me, but I see you've moved on to a new stage of development. Got a fair amount of game planned out, I see?

Help Error : Undefined value DUSKNOIR in PBItems

Well, Dusknoir isn't normally listed as an Item, and it's complaining about an Evolution value, so I'm guessing you've put Dusknoir in the space where it expects to see a Reaper Cloth. See here for how it's supposed to be laid out.

    Project Names

I guess I might as well re-visit this two years later: the current project I'm working on is still named "Do Or Die, Dragonite" (abbreviated "DDD," as in the bird from kirby) on my computer because it's been 9 months and I still have yet to come up with something proper. I'm really not very...

Recruiting Pokémon Nebula: A Cosmic Horror Inspired Fangame

Probably the most inexpensive way to do this - although it might also come off as a bit heavy-handed - is to have the encounters / encounter rates themselves change over time. 1. In Act 1, you see mostly cute stuff like Pikachu and Skitty, with an occasional oddity like Paras or Drifloon 2. In...

Dev Kit Do Or Die (yes that's what I'm calling it)

I need to not ignore this thread. Updates: The stuff specific to Pokémon has basically been removed from the project because (a) the threat of Nintendo noticing what I'm doing is just one more thing I'd have to worry about, and (2) I really do want to push the "you can make other kinds of games...
